Does the idea of a peaceful, picturesque community that’s close to all of the action and excitement of the big city appeal to you? If so, then you’ll love everything about Kleinburg, an incorporated village located in the city of Vaughan.
The community was founded in 1848 and is now fully modernized but has stayed true to its roots and heritage. You’ll find Kleinburg nestled right between two branches of the Humber River, and the gorgeous scenery and green space will take your breath away.
Here are five reasons to love living in the Village of Kleinburg:
1. The Endless Recreational Activities
Kleinburg is home to the Kortright Centre for Conservation, 325 acres of protected woodlands. This facility provides a natural oasis to enjoy with your family and offers educational programs like survival skills, mapping and orienteering, and a maple syrup festival in the early Spring.
If guided tours aren’t your thing, you can explore the centre at your leisure. You’ll find 16 kilometres of hiking trails through beautiful forests and a boardwalk through the marsh, along with several lookout points to take in the view and the wildlife. No matter what time of year you visit, the scenery is always beautiful.
The conservation centre isn’t the only place to enjoy nature. There’s also the Humber Valley Trail and Bindertwine Park with a children’s playground.
Avid golfers will spend many happy afternoons at Copper Creek, one of the city’s best golf courses with a stunning view of the Humber River Valley.

2. The Luxurious Spas and Boutiques
Walk along the quaint streets, and you’ll find luxurious spas and one-of-a-kind boutiques at every turn. There are treasure troves of hidden gems all around. You don’t have to look very hard to find that article of clothing, piece of jewellery or perfect home decor item you didn’t know you needed!
Afterwards, rest your feet at one of the many cafes or get pampered with a massage or facial at Kleinburg Wellness.
3. The Restaurants and Cafes
There are no shortages of delicious and tempting foods to soothe your appetite whenever you feel for a bite. If the sights of the restaurants aren’t enough to tempt you, the aroma is sure to lure you in as you walk by.
The dining options range from casual yet elevated pub fare and pizza to romantic Italian eateries. You will find something to satisfy your cravings no matter what time of day it is.
Do you have a sweet tooth? Then you won’t want to miss the Cookie Crumble Cafe, a full-service restaurant that specializes in homemade pies and other desserts.
4. The Arts and Culture
The McMichael Canadian Arts Collection is considered the top art gallery in Vaughan and is one of biggest draws to Kleinburg. However, it is more than just an art gallery, and there are approximately 100 acres of outdoor wonders to explore. Take a leisurely stroll as you contemplate the beauty of the wilderness garden and the heritage waterway.
And don’t forget to visit the Eyre Sculpture Garden, a collection of outdoor structures that will captivate your imagination. Inside, the gallery hosts works from The Group of Seven and Inuit and First Nation pieces. As you browse, you’ll also enjoy many contemporary paintings and sculptures.
There are so many exhibits to explore that you may want to visit the cafe for a quick refreshment to keep up your energy. Before you leave, be sure to visit the gift shop for a one-of-a-kind Canadian-made treasure you’ll never find elsewhere!
