5 Things to Love About Living in Vaughan

December 20th, 2021 / Vaughan

Are you looking for the perfect place to buy a home in The GTA? Without a doubt, Vaughan is among the best. This vibrant city offers an incredible quality of life, which explains why so many families are making the move there. Wondering what this exciting urban centre has to offer?

Here are five things to love about living in the City of Vaughan…

1) The Italian food is incredible

Like many people, I enjoy cuisines from around the world—but it doesn’t get better than Italian. At its best, it’s comfort food that offers a refined balance of flavours and true satisfaction. Fortunately, the pizza and pasta served up in some of Vaughan’s most popular eateries don’t disappoint!

Personally, I love Romano’s. From its fresh pastas to its perfectly prepared steaks and seafood dishes, this Woodbridge staple is a local favourite for a reason. If it’s pizza you’re craving, trying Marcello’s is a must. Fresh ingredients make all the difference (as does a perfectly-paired glass of wine, if you partake).

2. The family-friendly amenities

Vaughan is a great place to raise kids for many reasons, and one of them is the abundance of fun places to visit. The first example that comes to mind is Canada’s Wonderland, one of the most well known theme parks in the country. Visitors flock here for the roller coasters, water park rides, entertainment, and food.

Another local favourite is LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. At this fun-filled attraction, your little ones can enjoy Lego-themed games, rides, 4D cinema, and more. Of course, if they’re animal lovers, they may be more partial to Reptilia Zoo and Education Centre! Lastly, I can’t forget Vaughan Mills. This large outlet mall is the perfect place to pick up everything your family needs, from clothing and shoes to electronics and home furnishings.

3. You can immerse yourself in nature

There’s nothing quite like the great outdoors. Whether you’re looking to get some exercise, enjoy a family picnic, or marvel at the natural world, you’ll find some wonderful places to engage with the environment in Vaughan.

At 990 beautiful acres, Boyd Conservation Area is ideal for hiking and birdwatching. Kortright Centre for Conservation, which is just over 800 acres, is known for its stunning woodlands. Both are well worth the short drive. For those who fancy a jog or stroll, Bartley Smith Greenway and the West Don River Trail are equally appealing.

4. Golf lovers have no shortage of options

Do you or a member of your family like to hit the links? If so, you have options in Vaughan. Locals head to Eagle’s Nest Golf Club, which features beautifully-designed, award-winning courses. Its restaurant, lago, also serves up fine contemporary dining that’s perfect for special occasions.

Another must-visit is Copper Creek Golf Club. Here you’ll find one of the most impressive golf courses in the country, a 40,000-square-foot clubhouse, and amazing Sunday brunches. What more could you ask for?

5. The incredible housing stock

It’s no surprise that, as a Realtor®, I gravitate towards places where you can find beautiful homes. Fortunately, Vaughan has no shortage of them. There are some wonderful neighbourhoods here, and a wide range of home types to meet the needs of buyers.

In Kleinburg, there’s a beautiful mix of heritage homes and new builds. Maple draws families in with its many mid-sized detached properties, while West Woodbridge contains everything from luxury houses to modern condos. A real estate professional who knows Vaughan can help get you a sense of the local communities, and the homes that are available!
