Durham
The Regional Municipality of Durham is just a 30-minute drive from Toronto, and it encompasses several highly-convenient communities. From Whitby to Oshawa and beyond, there’s no shortage of fantastic places to live in this section of the west GTA.
Residents of Durham enjoy close proximity to the world-class restaurants, retail, entertainment, and nightlife of Toronto. Fortunately, at the end of the day, they can retire to their quieter (and generally more affordable) corner of the world.
Of course, Durham Region is exciting in its own right, and there’s plenty to see and do here. Check out the lively attractions in Ajax (like Casino Ajax and the RioCan Durham Centre) or the charming culture in Oshawa (the Oshawa Little Theatre and Robert McLaughlin Gallery are local draws). If the great outdoors is your thing, you’ll love the over 500 acres of parkland in Pickering and the many paths in Uxbridge (known as the Trail Capital of Canada).
